Dining on a strict gluten-free diet will be nerve racking. Today, I did the pleasure of dinner at Pita Jungle located at Desert Ridge (North Phoenix). All of our server, Andi, happened being gluten-sensitive and was invaluable. Although Pita Jungle does offer a nice amount of gluten-free items, they do not possess a menu that designates these people. Their allergy menu highlights the highest 8 allergens, but definitely not gluten (which includes grain, rye, barley, and oats). I was a bit of worried about ordering, especially because my 17 month old daughter having celiac disease was around. We were quickly put relaxed.
Andi asked the actual manager several questions to ensure our meals were thoroughly prepared. The manager, Thomas, even came up to your table, introduced himself, along with asked if we have been sensitive to cross-contamination. (This question is a problem to those with reactions and sensitivities). He then visited the kitchen and asked the staff to evolve their gloves and take the mandatory measures to prepare our meals to assure they were gluten cost-free.
Overall, our system was great and all of our meals were delicious. Our server told us that a lot of stuff on the menu is often altered to accommodate gluten 100 % free and dietary restrictions. In general, it was a awesome experience with great food stuff.
