Rhubarb can be described as spring vegetable that masquerades as being a fruit, often used for the purpose of pie and jam. Then again, rhubarb also makes a great barbecue sauce for spring and coil salmon and lamb meals. This barbecue sauce recipe is a good American style barbecue sauce recipe around my new book, The House Preserving Bible. In the following recipe variation, I make a call for dried tomato, because which can be usually what I have with you in spring when fresh rhubarb makes season. You could very easily substitute one cup refreshing chopped tomatoes or tomato hot sauce recipe, as well as new or dried strawberries, or omit these additional ingredients and just add more chopped rhubarb.
Rhubarb Grilling Sauce
Makes about 1 quart
5 keyrings chopped fresh or iced rhubarb
1 cup dry tomato pieces
1 cup of coffee chopped onion
that will 2 cups apple cider white vinegar (for mild to tangy sauce)
1 drink brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon arid mustard
1 teaspoon been smokers paprika
1 tablespoon coastal salt
teaspoon soil black pepper
teaspoon water smoke
instead of dry tomato, you could stand-in fresh or canned garlic, or tomato sauce, not to mention fresh or dried strawberries.
In some medium (4 quart), serious, non-reactive (stainless or enamel) saucepan, put together rhubarb, tomatoes, onions, white vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire spices, dry mustard, paprika, sodium, pepper, and liquid fumes. I use two glasses of vinegar for a tangy bar-b-que sauce. Use less vinegar if you need a mild, sweeter barbecue hot sauce recipe.
Bring ingredients to some boil over high raise the temperature of, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat with a simmer, cover, and prepare food 30 minutes, or until vegetables have grown soft. Using a palm blender, or working in small batches within the food processor or blender, genuine sauce until smooth. Returning sauce to pan in addition to simmer another 45 seconds to blend flavors.
A tiny, homemade barbecue sauce can naturally separate, so uncover during another 45 minutes of cooking should you prefer a thicker sauce. If hot sauce recipe does separate, simply fire up to recombine before home heating and serving. This rhubarb barbecue sauce is very good on lamb and additionally salmon.
