Last evening we attended a dinner developed by PastaPresta using his or her's fine pastas and using ingredients from several vendors at Sono Economy. If you havent at this point discovered this lovely fresh European-style market in Wilson Ave for South Norwalk, youre set for a delightful surprise.
There are approximately 50 vendors stalls in such a large building with indoors and outdoor eating or a Farmers market on weekends and plenty of events, including one Saturday for Mothers day. Well cover other Market in another article tuesday, but we want firstly PastaPresta, who asked us into the future.
PastaPresta is the latest business put together simply by Meri and Bill Erickson regarding New Canaan along wirh associate Mario Cavestany of This town. Central to their business will be the first US Pastation system from Pama Parsi inside Rome. It is a reasonably compact commercial pasta system that mixes and extrudes pasta. And then a pasta roller and cutter as well as a ravioli maker, their entire business sits for a passing fancy kitchen shelf.
Like much of the vendors, PastaPresta is amenable Friday, Saturday and Tuesday, selling delicious fresh pastas as well as raviolis. They also sell a complete line of cooking products including pasta forks, details colanders, grates, peelers not to mention cutting boards.
But onto the delicious dinner. We commenced with fresh oysters plus clams Rockefeller from Blossom Brothers, with Prosecco and wine made available from the Marketplace owner/manager Ernest Grasso.
Then we sat all the down to a Pea shooter, a glass of minted pea puree within a shooter glass, served with the help of warm ricotta cheese crostini lead with organic oven roasting grape tomatoes by Fun.
Then came the particular pasta courses! We first had the PastaPresta Thee Cheese Ravioli lead with marinara sauce made by Wise Guys Pizza Pies. This marinara sauce is really good, they bottle it to purchase separately and we left by having a bottle of it to take, along with some on the pasta.
