Readers of the column know that SOME Greener You at 2nd Street Market was a large asset to the society. Sadly, Sally has was mandated to close A Greener You thanks to health issues within everyone. While Sally and her shop are not replaced, Lisa Helm (Project Director of Daytons Garden Station) plus her partner George Shaw would be opening Dayton Urban Green while in the 2nd Street Market through the first week of Might. DUG intends to be described as a one-stop shop offering ways for sustainable, green household products and solutions. In addition to environment friendly cleaning products and personal maintenance systems, Dayton Urban Green will probably be carrying items for canning, fermentation, cheese-making and many more, along with the top books on these subjects. DUG will also carry a distinct gift items associated with Garden Station including wine bottle glassware, postcards, mosaic objects, bottle wall bookends, Parking Day t-shirts and better. Stay tuned for more news of this shop as it gets available!

Garden Station is usually a community garden and talent park created entirely from volunteers. Garden Station moreover features garden beds, murals, statues and mosaics by community artists. On the grounds you can find sustainable buildings with pounded wheel foundations, straw bale and also bottle walls and efficient roofs. Wheelchair accessible garden plots and a backyard kitchen are in position for events and training courses. Garden Station has been created on the efforts of over 1000 volunteers and additionally donations from over 80 native businesses and organizations, employing no paid staff and also budget.
