Cheryl 'Action' Jackson carries a story. Nominated as a female Godiva honoree, Cheryl took a visit east to NYC to wait the luncheon with past Lady Godiva, Lauren Rose bush Lauren at Sarabeth's regarding Gramarcy. Minnies Meal Pantry on April 1, 2008.
April Fool's Working day! What is your objective?
My personal objective statement is: 'If a person cant feed a 100, feed just one single. ' The Minnie's Food items Pantry mission is: To present healthy, nutritious food and the actual red carpet treatment to all people that we serve in the neighborhood.
How many people maybe you have helped thus far?
Over 123, 000 people happen to be helped and we have provided over 2. 5 million dollars pounds of food.
If you made it possible to get additional funding what do you do with it?
Use the funds to add to the food that I share to clients and also open up satellite locales. We want to feed others in which are not in our current area to guarantee they get healthy diet. I would also always purchase food trucks designed to enable me to feast many many people at that moment.
What made you start e-commerce?
At one time early within my life, I and my family were wanting food, and the process I was treated in that government office manufactured me feel sad and even depressed. That situation inspired me to set-up an avenue where families could come and stay fed healthy nutritious foods without stipulations or reasoning.
What were a few setbacks you got through at the start?
Managing time and creating a support system. In a symptom we had three individuals that were working on this mission but it was very difficult. Raising money was also a task as well because we all were so unknown.
What advice are you experiencing for other women wanting to start a nonprofit?
Pray and get God for direction. To be able to succeed in anything you must have one or the other and you simply dont have money, spend, follow God and allow for Him to lead you inside right direction.
Sound suggestions! What did the nomination designed for Lady Godiva mean to you personally?
Since Godiva is without a doubt my mothers favorite delicious chocolate, it made me look like a princess. I surely could give her the BEST chocolate that had been priceless. Then I need to meet my hero along with fellow hunger warrior Lauren Plant Lauren who fights for hunger also.
Who nominated everyone?
Darius Hawthorne and also Lynette Shofner, who are my mate and sister, and people on my Facebook and in the neighborhood emailed and said many people nominated me. People which have never met.
How did you ensure it is to the final circle?
Everyone in our community, including my close friends family and volunteers, came together and voted to me.

We have seen numerous volunteers and inquiries improve.
If you could want to return and start it again knowing what we know now, what on earth do you do differently?
I would definitely pray harder, work smarter and delegate more tasks well, i didn't lose the time with my friends. I also wouldn't claim that someone take out a payday loan like I did to advance the charity.
Where can you see your organization around 5 years?
I find satellite Minnies Food Kitchen locations everywhere.
Who 's your personal hero?
My mum, Minnie Ewing. I have watched a lady who the world will say had nothing, grant everything, and love any one unconditionally.
What's upcoming?
I have invited Oprah Winfrey to the next upcoming event. She inspired me which you can follow my passion and he has uplifted me during instances when I felt like leaving behind. I hope to find her at Minnies Meal Pantry 'Feed Just One' 5 12 months Gala on November 11, 2013. Opertation not to be poor.
