This delectable torte recipe celebrates the new sweet yet tart flavor of rhubarb. Enjoy!

Crust
2 glasses all purpose flour
3 tbsp. sugar
tsp. salt
1 container softened butter
2 ovum yolks
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Filling
1 servings sugar
cup flour, just about all purpose
4 cups sliced up fresh rhubarb or 4 cups of coffee thawed frozen rhubarb
1 tumbler half and half
4 egg cell yolks, lightly beaten
2 tbsp. melted butter
Meringue topping
4 egg cell whites
tsp. product of tartar
cup of coffee sugar

  • For crust, merge flour, sugar and salt inside of a bowl.
  • Cut in your butter, egg yolks together with vanilla until crumbly.
  • Press mixture proper greased 13-in. x 9-in. preparing pan.
  • Combine answering ingredients; pour over brown crust area. Bake at 375 to get 45-50 minutes or until filling is placed.
  • To help make meringue, beat egg white wines and cream of tartar before soft peaks form.
  • Gradually insert sugar, beating until brisk and glossy.
