These sour citrus bars pack every one of the fresh tangy flavor the majority love in a lemon bar without having to be overly sweet. Fresh lemon juice and zest is joined with Smuckers Natural Orange Marmalade Fruit Spread to lessen on sugar and high fat calories while also giving the treats an enjoyable citrus flavor. Ingredients:

  • Shortbread candy bar crust:

  • 2 huge eggs
  • 1/3 cup healthy squeezed lemon juice (or 1 good sized lemon)
  • 1 Tablespoon grated lime zest (or any leftover zest from cookie lemon)
  • 3 Tablespoons Smuckers All-natural Orange Marmalade Fruit Spread
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Pinch in salt

Optional topping:

  • Powdered sugar

Directions:

  • Place your oven rack towards the middle of your oven, and preheat stove to 350 degrees P.
  • Line an 8 by 8 baking pan using parchment paper.
  • In your food processor, pulse the oats until they handle a crumbly consistency a lot like flour.
  • Add butter along with sugar, pulse until sleek.
  • Add flour, sodium and lemon zest, and pulse just through to the dough just starts in to the future together.
  • Press the cookie shortbread dough towards the bottom of your set pan.
  • Bake around 15 minutes, watching closely never to over brown.
  • Once the cookie crust is mostly a nice golden color, remove crust belonging to the oven and cool.
